Winter is our busy time of year, here’s some tips to help you prepare.
If your household relies on LPG, you don’t want to run out of gas. It’s important to know how to check your gas bottles and when to order. Here are some tips to help you be prepared this winter.
How to order your LPG bottles
For the fastest and most effective way to order we recommend the following:
- Order directly through our Website Order Form
- Through the easy use Rockgas app available at Google Play or Apple Store
- Through our automated phone system 0800 307 300 (ordering and credit/debit card payments).
Please allow additional time for delivery
The cold winter months are our busiest time of year at Rockgas. With the cooler months the demand for LPG increases, please allow additional time for your delivery.
Currently, our customer care team is unable to provide details about when to expect your bottle as this information isn’t available until the day before delivery. We understand this is frustrating and are working on improving this process.
The good news is if you are set up to receive a text or email notification from us to tell you when your delivery is ready, you will receive a reminder the evening before and on the day of your delivery.
Set up text or email notifications
You can sign up for notifications by emailing LPGenquiries@rockgas.co.nz with your name, account number, delivery address and contact phone number, then simply state either one or both of:
- I would like to receive text notifications for my LPG delivery.
- I would like to receive email notifications for my LPG delivery.
Our team will have this updated for you within five working days.
Get ready for your delivery
Once you receive a text or email from us to say your delivery is on its way, please make your property safe for our team by securing your dogs and making sure there’s a clear access way for us to get to the bottles.
Check your bottle regulator often
It’s important to check the regulators on your bottles often and we recommend you do that every week. Why not do it at the same time you put your bins out or set a weekly alarm?
Remember to order a new bottle as soon as your regulator changes to red so you don’t run low.
Occasionally you might find your main bottle temporarily draws from the reserve bottle. This is usually because the temperature has dropped or you’re using multiple appliances at once. This means your reserve bottle will be partially depleted before the regulator indicates red on the main bottle.
