Here’s a delightful green recipe to brighten your day. It’s super quick and efficient when you’re cooking with gas!

Fettuccine Pesto Pasta Recipe


1. 450g fettuccine or spaghetti

2. 1 tbsp butter unsalted

3. 1 tsp olive oil

4. 225g basil pesto

5. ¼ cup parmesan cheese freshly grated


Bring a large pot of water to the boil on the stove. Add 1 tsp salt and add the fettuccine pasta. Cook the pasta, stirring occasionally until pasta is cooked. Drain pasta once done, reserving ¼ cup of pasta water. Start sauce while pasta cooks.

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter and olive oil. Once ingredients are melted, stir them together and turn off the heat. Add reserved pasta water and pesto and stir to combine. You don’t want to cook the pesto with heat, it will warm up with the melted butter.

Add pasta to pesto butter and toss with tongs to combine. Serve immediately with freshly grated parmesan cheese. Enjoy on it’s own or with cooked chicken breast.
